About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility
  • Room patients and prepare them for examination
  • Record medical history and vital signs, including blood pressure and temperature
  • Perform point-of-care testing, including flu, strep, urinalysis, and ECG
  • Assist providers during patient visits and communicate patient needs
  • Process co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments
  • Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and front desk areas
  • Manage medical records, documentation, and patient communications
  • Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
  • Support daily clinic operations, including opening and closing duties
  • Support providers, radiologic technologists, and patients in a fast-paced, patient-facing setting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire
  • Accepted certifications include: CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
  • CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or CHP)
  • RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT, AAH, or ARMA)
  • NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
  • NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) – required at hire
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program preferred
  • 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience within the last 3 years preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and patient service skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
