About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Examine and treat patients
  • Take patients’ medical histories
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
  • Make diagnoses and prescribe medications
  • Treat minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
  • Record progress notes for follow-up patients
  • Educate and counsel patients
  • Order and/or carry out therapy with patients
  • Give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care
  • Work anticipated eight- or twelve-hour shifts assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent Care
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Urgent care, emergency room, or high acute family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients
  • Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
  • Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
  • One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or one (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required
  • Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience
  • National Certification
  • Active state medical licensure
  • Applicable office procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
  • Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required
  • Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
  • Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
