About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide quality medical care to Inova Health System patients
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Conduct comprehensive medical exams
- Make diagnoses and develop treatment plans
- Provide education and guidance to patients on disease prevention and management
- Complete initial assessments and evaluations of new patients
- Monitor patients' medical conditions and provide treatment
- Order prescription medications and diagnostic procedures
- Authorize and coordinate specialty and ancillary services
- Participate in preventive health screenings, immunization programs, professional community outreach, and quality assurance
- Participate in clinical research projects and studies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team activities such as case conferences
- Provide in-service staff development and clinical teachings to trainees
- Maintain consultative relationships with nurses, social workers, clinic nurses, and rehabilitation staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution
- Board eligible or board certified by the American Board in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Successful completion of Family Medicine residency program
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia
- Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors
- Ability to enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
- Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
