About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide a broad range of clinical services to patients of all ages
- Treat acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections
- Work independently or alongside a physician to assess, diagnose, and treat patients
- Recognize when to escalate care to emergency services
- Conduct physical exams and review patient medical histories
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
- Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments or medications
- Perform minor procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EMR
- Educate and counsel patients on care and prevention
- Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialists as needed
- Work scheduled shifts of hours as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a licensed NP or PA in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting (required)
- Experience treating both pediatric and adult patient populations (required)
- Comfortable performing minor procedures including suturing, casting, and splinting (required)
- Proficient in preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays (required)
- Master’s degree from an accredited PA program (required)
- NCCPA Certification (required)
- Proficiency in urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting)
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attentive listening and patient engagement
- Preferred: Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Preferred: Multilingual communication skills
- Preferred: Familiarity with telemedicine platforms
- Preferred: Basic understanding of medical billing and coding
