About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical procedures and apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis
  • Perform and analyze patient X-rays and report results to Medical Providers
  • Provide administrative support for efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers
  • Support Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients with patient care management, organization, and communication tasks
  • Perform X-ray services for patients of all age groups under the direction of clinical providers
  • Position patients correctly and protect them during equipment use
  • Push patients in wheelchairs as needed
  • Prepare patients for examinations, verify patient information, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose
  • Perform preliminary physical tests and vital signs; escalate critical cases to providers
  • Conduct point-of-care testing including flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, and HCG as needed
  • Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files
  • Conduct courtesy follow-up calls
  • Perform and document equipment controls and calibration; maintain QA/QC logs
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets
  • Collaborate with ordering/treating Providers to determine appropriate procedures and views
  • Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, and answer questions
  • Position patients and equipment for optimal imaging
  • Adjust radiographic controls to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Maintain and clean X-ray equipment and manage supplies
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
  • Maintain patient records and log completed procedures
  • Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required
  • Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required
  • Clinical setting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and common radiology safety hazards
  • Ability to position patients properly for X-ray procedures
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct them or notify a supervisor
  • Ability to follow infection control and radiological safety procedures
