About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants on patient care management, organization, and communication
  • Provide health care services including X-rays to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients of all age groups
  • Perform and analyze patient X-rays and report results to Medical Providers
  • Provide administrative support for efficient urgent care center operations
  • Perform X-ray services under the direction of clinical providers
  • Position patients and equipment correctly and protect patients during X-ray procedures
  • Prepare patients for examinations, verify patient information, record medical history, and confirm visit purpose
  • Perform preliminary physical tests and escalate critical cases to providers
  • Conduct point-of-care testing such as flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, and HCG testing
  • Maintain medical records and scan charts into patient files
  • Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up
  • Perform and document equipment controls and calibration; maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets
  • Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, and answer questions
  • Select radiographic controls to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Maintain and clean X-ray equipment and manage supplies
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
  • Maintain accurate patient records and procedure logs
  • Verify image quality and send images to radiologists for interpretation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required
  • Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety hazards common to radiology
  • Ability to position patients properly for X-ray procedures
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct them or notify supervisors
  • Ability to follow infection control and radiological safety procedures
  • Ability to push patients in a wheelchair
