Training Coach II

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Facilitate new hire onboarding, clinical skills training, and workflow education
- Deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on training; serve as a backup facilitator as needed
- Reinforce standardized workflows, policies, procedures, and best practices
- Coach learners and provide feedback supporting development, readiness, and onboarding
- Monitor learner attendance, training progress, and completion
- Communicate learner status, readiness, and concerns to Training and Operations Leadership
- Identify and escalate attendance, performance, or engagement issues
- Maintain training records, assessments, certifications, reports, and documentation
- Participate in Training Coach candidate interviews and provide job-related feedback
- Observe and assess learner performance; validate competencies and identify skill gaps
- Recommend additional training, remediation, or “Back to Basics” interventions
- Support learner improvement plans through coaching, feedback, and skill reinforcement
- Support training operations, schedules, logistics, and assigned initiatives
- Partner with Training Coaches and Training and Operations Leadership to promote consistency and workforce readiness
- Support reporting, tracking, documentation, special projects, pilot programs, and process improvement
- Provide clinical support as needed while maintaining competencies, certifications, quality, and patient care standards
- Perform Medical Assistant duties including registration, insurance verification, co-pay processing, appointment scheduling, referrals, patient interviews, vital signs, point-of-care testing, medical records, supply inventory, phone coverage, follow-up calls, opening/closing duties, and equipment quality-control procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active clinical certification or license (MA, EMT, Paramedic, or LPN)
- Required certifications (e.g., BLS)
- 2+ years of clinical experience in urgent care, outpatient, or similar clinical settings
- Prior experience as a Training Coach, Preceptor, or equivalent role
- Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Knowledge of clinical operations, workflows, patient care standards, and adult learning principles
- Ability to deliver instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training
- Skill in coaching learners, assessing performance, validating competencies, and providing developmental feedback
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to maintain accurate training records, monitor learner progress, and communicate status, risks, and recommendations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems (LMS), and other business technologies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to work weekends to train per diem and part-time team members
- Ability to travel 50% or more between company locations and to out-of-town destinations as needed
