About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing Family Services programming under the Service Coordination Manager
  • Facilitate curriculum-based classes, workshops, support groups, and other family activities in person and/or virtually
  • Explain Good Samaritan classes and programs to participants, service providers, and visitors
  • Pre-screen service needs through the agency intake process and provide internal and external referrals
  • Conduct participant intakes in Salesforce/CMS, including needs assessment, consent forms, enrollment, and confidential document maintenance
  • Prepare assigned programs, including calendar scheduling, materials preparation, space setup and cleanup, and attendance-confirmation calls
  • Track program enrollment and attendance and enter information into databases
  • Manage program waitlists and coordinate enrollment lists with program facilitators
  • Provide and collect pre- and post-program evaluations and surveys
  • Coordinate referrals and follow up with referred participants alongside staff and service providers
  • Maintain and update program referral and services information
  • Research the community to identify resources for the resource information guide
  • Provide administrative support to staff
  • Meet weekly with the Service Coordination Manager and attend staff, team, and committee meetings
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality and contribute to a positive, professional team environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required in reading, writing, and speaking
  • Experience with facilitation of workshops, classes and/or support groups
  • Experience working with Latino immigrant population and understanding of immigrant issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Public relations/customer service skills
  • Ability and willingness to work an irregular schedule and travel to off-site community locations as needed
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Computer literacy, including MS Word, Internet, and data entry
  • Experience with databases, including CMS, GMS, and Salesforce, and data entry
  • Excellent writing skills, including spelling and grammar in English and Spanish
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work style and ability to work effectively with diverse staff
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Must complete full background check, including Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index
  • Must have TB clearance
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to varied student and programmatic needs
  • Punctual, self-motivated, and flexible
  • Child and youth friendly
  • Bicultural Spanish/English preferred
  • Knowledge of Mission District and citywide resources desired
  • Previous experience in or understanding of family resource center and/or family strengthening models desired
  • Training or experience in early childhood and/or youth development desired
  • Experience with conflict management and de-escalation methods desired
