About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect, design, and evolve scalable, high-performance APIs and backend services for contractor financial tools
  • Build secure and reliable capabilities supporting payments and other financial workflows
  • Integrate with internal and external systems while keeping services maintainable and extensible
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Finance, Risk, and Operations to translate business needs into resilient technical solutions
  • Drive the full software development lifecycle from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and post-launch support
  • Mentor and guide engineers across the team, setting standards for system design, security, scalability, and code quality
  • Champion operational excellence through observability, documentation, monitoring, alerting, and incident response
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by supervisors or managers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • Deep backend expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
  • Strong system design skills
  • Experience building scalable, reliable, and secure distributed systems and APIs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Collaborative, leadership-oriented mindset
  • Passion for clean, maintainable code, mentoring others, and continuous improvement
  • Experience building B2B SaaS, financial technology, or business operations products is a bonus
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, domain-driven design, or complex third-party integrations is a bonus
