About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide on-site job coaching for supported participants
  • Guide and motivate individuals to successfully perform their jobs
  • Train participants on vocational tasks
  • Maintain communication with employer management and co-workers regarding vocational support plans
  • Follow each employer’s workplace rules and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Identify, modify, or eliminate barriers to employment
  • Promote integration and natural support in workplaces
  • Communicate with support teams and others according to individual support plans and Case Manager direction
  • Maintain timely, complete service documentation, including service-hour reports, incident reports, and case notes
  • Provide personal care assistance as needed
  • Assist the Case Manager with identifying and coordinating transportation
  • Provide disability-related education to employers, co-workers, and community contacts
  • Improve job knowledge and understanding of services and business relationships
  • Manage time, multitask, and adapt to new situations
  • Travel daily and transport persons served

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some higher education preferred
  • No experience necessary; one year of work experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience supporting people with disabilities
  • Ability to handle challenging behavior, teach job tasks, and coach adults with disabilities
  • Positive interaction with internal and external customers
  • Ability to find solutions, resolve conflict, and proactively solve problems
  • Open-mindedness and flexibility to improve quality of output
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn and use databases
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and proof of insurance
  • Use of a personal smart phone required
  • Ability to interact professionally with varying levels of employer management
  • Daily travel and transportation of persons served
  • Extensive walking and standing; ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Full range of motion to use proper lifting techniques and provide varying levels of personal care support
  • Ability to clearly communicate
