About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the eDiscovery process for assigned litigation matters
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, clients, vendors, and firm members across offices
  • Evaluate eDiscovery needs and develop comprehensive project plans
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, risks, costs, quality, and deadlines
  • Leverage technology to create efficiencies and cost savings
  • Maintain project trackers and document all eDiscovery process steps
  • Use RelativityOne to process, analyze, search, thread, batch, review, and produce documents
  • Provide eDiscovery software guidance and training to case teams
  • Analyze and report on incoming client and external-party data
  • Review and edit document review protocols
  • Assist with privilege logs
  • Serve as primary liaison between case teams and eDiscovery vendors
  • Obtain, evaluate, and help select vendor bids
  • Lead matter kickoff calls and participate in vendor meetings
  • Perform quality control checks on vendor work, searches, and productions
  • Monitor eDiscovery spend against budgets and communicate anticipated overages
  • Escalate issues and mitigate project delays
  • Assist with database decommissioning at matter completion
  • Advise on improvements to Goodwin’s eDiscovery playbook
  • Maintain knowledge of litigation support tools, document review tools, industry standards, and procedures
  • Maintain a billable-hours target of 1,000 hours

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Over 5 years of experience in eDiscovery
  • Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification required
  • Brainspace Analyst Certification required
  • Thorough understanding of the electronic discovery process
  • Advanced skills in database searching, data analytics, and technology-assisted review (TAR)
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Excel
  • Experience designing workflows to facilitate ESI review
  • Proficiency in processing, searching, threading, reviewing, and producing data in RelativityOne
  • Experience handling large cases, including document collections, reviews, and productions
  • Proven experience working with eDiscovery vendors on pricing, budgets, and project management
  • Ability to understand substantive and strategic aspects of litigation matters
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, project management, organizational, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple responsibilities and collaborators, and meet deadlines
  • Strong commitment to superior internal and external client service
  • Ability to monitor quality control
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to travel and spend extended periods in other cities as needed
