About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a strategic partner to Life Sciences partners to drive business growth
- Understand the Life Sciences market landscape and use insights to inform client targeting
- Identify and qualify pitch opportunities
- Craft compelling, tailored storytelling for new and existing client opportunities
- Prepare strategic responses to RFPs/RFIs and handle daily pitch requests
- Develop strategic marketing materials, differentiated positioning, pitches, and proposals
- Support and drive client development initiatives with internal stakeholders
- Monitor and track business development opportunities within the Life Sciences group
- Analyze client, prospect, and competitor activity to optimize business development plans
- Lead strategic submissions, attorney rankings, industry surveys, and awards across US geographic and demographic segments
- Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities across practice areas
- Conduct competitive intelligence and market research for client meetings, proposals, and business development initiatives
- Manage and mentor team members through training, guidance, and ongoing support
- Collaborate with partners, the Client Development team, Marketing and Communications, and Global Operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of progressive experience in a practice management, business development or marketing role, ideally in an AmLaw 100 or other large professional services firm
- 2+ years as a manager preferred
- Exceptional communication, storytelling, and listening skills; adept at engaging Executive-level stakeholders across formats with strong attention to detail
- Proven experience supporting senior executives on strategic priorities in fast-paced, high-stakes environments
- Strategic thinking with strong analytical, organizational, and project ownership skills
- Ability to identify life sciences business growth opportunities, anticipate client needs, and deliver innovative, actionable solutions
- Ability to draw insights from qualitative and quantitative data to inform strategy and decision-making
- Ability to articulate how emerging technologies, including AI, drive client value
- Ability to manage multiple client workstreams and maintain focus on outcomes and next steps
- Ability to build trusted relationships at all levels and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information
- Adaptability in ambiguous, matrixed, cross-functional, and global environments
- Self-starter with a creative and proactive mindset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and evolving tools and technologies
- Willingness to travel occasionally
