About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, provision, manage, and scale performant cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code tools
- Write and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines for software builds, testing, and continuous deployment
- Ensure system health and monitor network, storage, and compute services
- Promote Shift Left security across all platform layers
- Partner with application teams to design cloud-ready architectures
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure challenges
- At the senior level, lead domain architectural vision, design long-term roadmaps, manage capacity planning, and lead cross-functional technology projects
- Participate in on-call support and occasional weekend work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenStack, or software-defined networking, including VLANs, firewalls, and load balancers
- Strong scripting abilities in Python, Go, Shell, Ruby, or Perl
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus, and Git version control
- Intermediate level: 5+ years of experience in IT, software engineering, DevOps, or system administration
- Intermediate level: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Required)
- Senior level: 7+ years of experience in IT, software engineering, DevOps, or system engineering
- Senior level: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Preferred)
- Participation in an on-call rotation and occasional weekend work as needed for support
- Candidates employed by a Gordon Food Service customer must provide a letter of support from their management if selected for the interview process
