About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide value-added services to current and potential non-commercial customers, focusing on healthcare and senior living sectors
- Assist in developing regional segment business plans and provide segment expertise to regional sales, business development, and marketing support teams
- Provide business solutions supporting Sales and Marketing initiatives and increasing Gordon Food Service market share
- Advise non-commercial customers on menu and recipe technology, cost control, quality improvement, and onsite operational reviews
- Collaborate with key non-commercial customers to achieve sales and margin goals
- Deliver business solutions training for non-commercial sales teams
- Assist in developing annual segment plans aligned with regional strategic goals
- Participate in planning and executing food shows, sales meetings, and marketing meetings
- Direct regional participation in industry events and networking, including public speaking
- Leverage Home Office content and insights for regional and customer use and support adoption of tools
- Analyze industry trend data and create insights to strengthen relationships with non-commercial customers
- Prepare and deliver presentations on non-commercial segment topics
- Assist in key customer business planning sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field required
- Five to seven years previous experience in sales, marketing, or food service operations
- For employees working in the Healthcare Segment, Registered Dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) is required
- For employees working in the Education Segment, Registered Dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) is preferred
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license and safe driving record per GFS policy
- Ability to work independently while also part of a broader team
- Excellent customer service, mentoring, interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to develop, refine, communicate, and implement plans and to set and define goals
- Must have strong knowledge of industry trends and be able to provide training on the technical aspects of non-commercial segments
- Must have industry and segment knowledge and be able to analyze and interpret data
- Must have good time management, administration, and organizational skills
- Must be a strategic thinker in order to build relationships, network, and link resources to plan and execute business practices
- Must have the ability to multitask and work exceptional hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to develop solutions to complex problems using ingenuity and innovation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer)
- Proficiency with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, Sites)
- Customer employees must provide a letter of support from management if selected for the interview process
- Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug test
