About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Cultivate customer relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions
- Manage overall sales and relationship efforts for existing and prospective customers within the assigned territory
- Pursue new customers and identify prospective customers
- Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants
- Develop and present sales strategies highlighting Gordon Food Service products, services, values, and solutions
- Visit customers within the assigned territory weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
- Conduct business reviews to identify customer needs and sales-growth opportunities
- Provide ongoing training on Gordon Food Service product offerings
- Identify opportunities to add value through product and service offerings
- Balance new customer acquisition with strengthening existing relationships
- Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers
- Communicate order status and processing updates to customers
- Complete initial training in systems, processes, products, sales processes, relationship development, and territory management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED is required
- Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred
- 1 year of prior sales, business, or food service experience
- Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record
- Ability to obtain your food safety certification
- Candidates who work for a Gordon Food Service customer must provide a letter of support from their management if selected for the interview process
- Must complete pre-employment drug testing
