About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide analysis and project leadership in support of 1GX operations and production environment
  • Leverage specialized finance knowledge to support continuous improvement of the 1GX system
  • Support scheduled upgrades and review system change orders and service requests
  • Develop comprehensive business requirements with stakeholders
  • Work with system integrator Accenture
  • Resolve issues affecting 1GX production systems and communicate statuses and updates
  • Coordinate stakeholder and project-team support for analysis, configuration, design, testing, quality assurance, and implementation of new releases, modules, and functionality
  • Review, assess, and control 1GX system changes for alignment with business plans, policies, procedures, and standards
  • Provide advice on issue resolution
  • Develop, recommend, and implement process improvements
  • Consult with 1GX users, business communities, and Service Managers to identify impacts and address business needs
  • Provide project management support from inception to completion
  • Design business processes and coordinate project deliverables from initiation through implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University graduation in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in finance industry
  • Experience with accounting and/or budgeting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across government, external partners, and internal teams
  • Ability to research, analyze, and resolve complex issues accurately
  • Influencing and negotiation skills to gain alignment and commitment
  • Ability to interpret legislation, policies, and internal regulations
  • Strategic thinking with ability to assess outcomes and impacts
  • Strong analytical, data interpretation, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, automation, and data-driven tools, or strong willingness to learn and adapt
  • Final candidates must undergo security screening
  • Must reside within the province of Alberta to be eligible for a remote work arrangement
