About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own technical projects from problem framing through rollout
Gather user feedback and measure the effectiveness of shipped work
Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, and backend engineers
Build intuitive user experiences with clean, reusable components
Contribute to supporting APIs and backend functionality
Mentor and collaborate with engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and pairing
Participate in on-call, incident response, and incident learning
Provide technical support during customer escalations
Identify and address areas of high customer friction
Collaborate with other squads on shared dependencies
Contribute to design proposals, demos, and technical discussions
Build database observability experiences for exploring database telemetry, understanding health and performance, identifying slow queries, and troubleshooting issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong frontend engineering experience with experience across the stack
Experience building and maintaining production web applications with React and TypeScript
Comfortable contributing to backend services and APIs
Maintainability, readability, automated testing, and secure development practices
Solid experience delivering complex projects
Experience mentoring other engineers
Clear communication in a fully remote, asynchronous environment
Experience being on-call and supporting software in production
Experience ensuring reliability and responding to incidents
Ability to tackle complex engineering problems with minimal supervision
Practical experience using AI coding tools and validating their output
Interest in contributing to the Grafana Community
Open-source contribution or maintainership is a bonus
Interest in observability tools is a bonus
Experience with databases, SQL, database performance monitoring, or Go is a bonus
