About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own technical projects from problem framing through rollout, including gathering user feedback and measuring outcomes
Collaborate with Product Management, Product Design, and backend engineers to build intuitive user experiences
Build clean, reusable frontend components and contribute to supporting APIs and backend functionality
Mentor and collaborate with engineers through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and technical guidance
Participate in on-call for software built by the team
Contribute to incident response and incident learning
Provide technical support during customer escalations
Identify areas of customer friction and address them
Collaborate with other squads on shared dependencies
Contribute to design proposals, demos, and technical discussions
Build database observability experiences that make database telemetry easy to explore and understand
Take ideas from exploration through production and improve them based on customer feedback

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong frontend engineering experience with experience across the stack
Experience building and maintaining production web applications with React and TypeScript
Comfortable contributing to backend services and APIs
Maintainability, readability, automated testing, and secure development practices
Experience delivering complex projects
Experience mentoring other engineers
Clear communication in a fully remote, asynchronous environment
Experience being on-call and supporting software in production
Experience ensuring reliability and responding to incidents
Ability to tackle complex engineering problems with minimal supervision
Practical experience using AI coding tools and validating their output
Interest in contributing to the Grafana community
Open-source contribution or maintainership is a bonus
Interest in observability and experience with Grafana, Prometheus, or other observability platforms is a bonus
Experience with databases, SQL, or database performance monitoring is a bonus
Experience building backend services in Go is a bonus
Experience using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo on call is a bonus
Experience in a fully remote, globally distributed team is a bonus
