About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the entire customer experience, including product selection, accurate order entry, safely picking product, and safely loading customer vehicles
  • Maximize sales opportunities and encourage customer loyalty
  • Adapt communication style to differing audiences via email, phone, and in person
  • Pick, prepare, and stage will-call orders and shipping products
  • Prepare customer backorders and put away received stock
  • Assist with merchandising and showroom replenishment
  • Perform inventory counts
  • Navigate computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain branch appearance to Grainger standards
  • Report to the Store Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Flexibility to work any time within branch hours of operation
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance
  • Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment
  • Ability to learn and navigate different computer systems for customer-facing and warehouse activities
  • Agreement to safety guidelines and compliance with all process standards, including wearing personal protective equipment
