About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Senior Manager, Services & Field Safety Professionals
- Lead day-to-day service centre operations and drive continuous improvement with the shop supervisor
- Partner with Sales and Field Operations to educate, generate demand and deliver services financial goals
- Grow revenue and market share through strategic planning, sales pipeline ownership and targeted service opportunities
- Gather market intelligence, monitor close rates and drive demand generation
- Manage operating expenses, balance service and cost to serve, and own the full P&L
- Lead supervisors in implementing and measuring core processes, safety, inventory accuracy, standard work, risk management and customer satisfaction
- Build key customer relationships and proactively address concerns
- Prepare and execute annual operational plans covering sales, gross margin, expenses and earnings
- Establish continuous-improvement practices to optimize branch profitability and key performance indicators
- Oversee repair and service of customer-owned equipment and service-call schedules
- Supervise service technicians, including recruitment, training, coaching and performance management
- Control inventory and manage annual counts
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements for servicing and certifying equipment
- Maintain technician safety, maintenance, security and workplace cleanliness
- Ensure quality and turnaround commitments meet customer expectations
- Perform service work administration, including receiving, shipping, quotations, parts ordering/expediting and invoicing
- Recruit, select, develop, coach, train and retain a diverse team
- Build internal and external talent pipelines and develop future leaders through performance and succession planning
- Drive team accountability, engagement and open-door feedback culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma or equivalent technical certificate
- Minimum 5 years with technical / industrial service management, preferably Safety/Fire/MRO
- Demonstrated leadership skills developed through previous people management experience
- Proven track record of positive coaching, team building, training and development of direct reports
- Hands-on management style
- Experience creating compelling presentations with clear storytelling
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a team and drive increased revenue and profitability
- Ability to travel throughout assigned region(s), approximately 50%
- May be required to undergo customer alcohol and drug screening procedures for access to certain customer sites
- Must adhere to customer-site safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
