About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee Outbound (picking and packing) operations in a high-volume, order-fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center
- Oversee up to 4 salaried supervisors and provide indirect leadership to up to 100 non-exempt employees
- Manage accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, resource and process optimization, on-time customer delivery, operating costs, and process efficiencies
- Manage processes to ensure compliance with procedures and identify process improvements
- Use operational and financial data to identify performance variations or exceptions and communicate issues to leadership
- Support distribution-center-wide projects and ensure deliverables are completed by commitment dates
- Develop employee engagement and recognition programs and promote fair, respectful, and empowering workplace practices
- Interview and train salaried supervisors, assign and direct work, support development goals, provide feedback, complete performance evaluations, and administer recognition or disciplinary action
- Identify continuous-improvement opportunities and implement LEAN, DMAIC, and Six Sigma solutions
- Emphasize training and implement audit systems to eliminate process variation and ensure compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations
- 3+ years progressively responsible management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations
- Ability to use production, safety, quality, cycle time, financial, and other operational data to analyze performance
- Knowledge of LEAN, DMAIC, and Six Sigma tools and programs
- Knowledge of compliance requirements involving OSHA, DOT, EPA, Company procedures, and other governmental agencies
