About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct primary and secondary reviews of complex tax returns
  • Provide tax consulting services for partnership clients
  • Evaluate tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage clients’ IRC 704b accounts
  • Manage multiple client service teams and tax engagements across a wide variety of industries
  • Plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects
  • Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise
  • Market, sell, design, and implement tax-planning strategies and manage engagements to budget
  • Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff
  • Assess staff performance for engagement and year-end performance reviews
  • Research and consult on tax matters, primarily Sub-chapter K partnership taxation
  • Use tax-related software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters
  • Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
  • Communicate actively with clients to manage expectations, meet deadlines, and enhance relationships
  • Support business development activities, including identification, proposal development, and pursuit activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • Minimum six to ten years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a combination of industry and public accounting experience
  • Experience with partnership structuring, entity formation and mergers & acquisitions is preferred
  • Proficiency in US GAAP, partnership returns, joint venture and non-corporate entity tax returns, and Sub-chapter K partnership taxation
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
  • Ability to travel as needed
