About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a first point of contact for members and providers
  • Deliver service via inbound calls and emails
  • Help individuals navigate health insurance plans and understand benefits
  • Resolve claims issues and inquiries related to eligibility, billing, provider networks, and prescription coverage
  • Ask questions to understand issues and identify solutions or next steps
  • Explain claims, benefits, eligibility, billing, provider networks, and prescription coverage using internal systems
  • Listen actively and demonstrate compassion
  • Record interactions clearly and thoroughly in the CRM system
  • Partner with internal departments, third-party vendors, and brokers/navigators to provide resolution and support
  • Maintain a structured and reliable schedule; extended hours during January–March peak season may be required
  • Uphold the Gravie CARE service model
  • Ensure compliance with privacy, confidentiality, security, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards
  • Meet or exceed performance expectations for call quality, adherence, RSAT, After Call Work, and Call Answered%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service or a call center environment
  • Passion for helping people and track record resolving complex customer concerns using active listening, creative problem-solving, and empathy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High reliability and commitment to adhering to a structured work schedule
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience entering and updating information in electronic systems or databases
  • Proficiency navigating computers and multitasking across multiple platforms and systems
  • Solid typing skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow established processes accurately and efficiently
  • Results-driven mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Previous experience in health insurance, healthcare, or related fields is extra credit
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite is extra credit
  • Active Health Insurance Producer License or willingness to obtain licensure if required is extra credit
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, or Marketplace plans is a plus
  • Access to a quiet, professional workspace and reliable high-speed internet meeting organizational minimum requirements
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
