Key responsibilities & impact

Understand and analyze business reports needed in underwriting processes, including credit checks, bank agreements, and financial statements
Manage risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability for the branch office
Assess risk quality in compliance with company guidelines
Review others’ underwriting and recommend terms and conditions for extending surety credit
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate effectively
Hold self and team accountable for established objectives
Use independent judgment and initiative to support business goals
Coach and develop the team
Work in-office and travel within the assigned territory

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
Generally, 9+ years of related experience
4 or more years of management experience
Progression toward certification in area of expertise preferred
Appropriate certifications could include AFSB, CPA, and/or RPLU
Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
Ability to understand and analyze credit checks, bank agreements, financial statements, and other business reports
Ability to assess risk quality in compliance with company guidelines
Highly organized
Ability to make timely, informed decisions and use independent judgment
Ability to communicate effectively and deliver exceptional customer service
