About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with the administration and operation of GreatAmerica’s Data Governance Framework
  • Support governance of critical business artifacts by documenting artifact metadata, business terms, data definitions, ownership information, and governance records
  • Perform metadata discovery, data lineage analysis, and information gathering using governance and data management tools
  • Assist with development, documentation, monitoring, and reporting of data quality rules, controls, and governance metrics
  • Support governance workflows, including artifact intake, stewardship coordination, status tracking, issue management, and reporting
  • Create and maintain governance documentation, process documentation, training materials, user guides, and governance-related communications
  • Assist with implementation, testing, and adoption of Data Governance tooling and capabilities
  • Collaborate with business users, Data Stewards, technology teams, and governance stakeholders to support initiatives and resolve issues
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and AI-powered productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve efficiency, research information, create documentation, and support governance activities
  • Complete onboard training and appropriate onsite training classes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Student pursuing an Associate's degree in a technology, analytics, business, or related field is required
  • Entry-level understanding of IT industry fundamentals, concepts, terminology, platforms, and processes
  • No prior work experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, web browsers, and business productivity tools
  • Ability to learn and utilize data governance, metadata management, reporting, and analytics platforms
  • Experience using AI-powered productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or similar solutions is preferred
  • Skilled in using a computer as a productivity and collaboration tool
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently with limited supervision, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to research information, communicate findings clearly, and accurately enter, maintain, and analyze information using technology platforms
  • Detail-oriented, problem solver, troubleshooting, self-motivated, organized, team oriented, solution driven, able to quickly shift focus between tasks, active listening skills, and growth mindset
