About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the lead teacher in implementing a rich Core Knowledge curriculum
Function as a second teacher in the classroom without responsibility for all planning, grading/evaluation, and parent communications
Provide individual assistance and help students make up work after approved absences
Support students who find content and lessons challenging
Collaborate with classroom teachers and grade-level staff to improve learning
Support and enforce school dress and behavior codes
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for the classroom teacher and Headmaster
Attend Open Houses, special school events, designated staff meetings, and faculty development
Substitute for absent teachers when necessary
Perform monitoring and duty assignments
Assist with upkeep of buildings and grounds
Follow school safety and security policies, including the Academy Crisis Plan
Participate in performance evaluations and pursue continuous professional growth
Promote the mission and goals of Archway Classical Academy

Requirements

What you’ll need

Some college coursework and/or Associate's degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred
Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements
Must be able to maintain a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 25% of the time
May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities
