About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join the Revenue Management Department as a Legal Billing Specialist
- Prepare invoices through the full invoice lifecycle
- Edit prebills via Prebill Viewer and Aderant based on Billing Attorney requests
- Generate a high volume of complex client invoices via Aderant
- Ensure invoices comply with billing guidelines and include required supporting documentation
- Submit electronic bills via EHub with supporting documentation
- Monitor and promptly address invoice rejections, reductions, and appeals
- Respond to billing inquiries from attorneys, clients, and administrative staff
- Undertake special projects and ad hoc reports
- Collaborate across teams to deliver effective billing services
- Report to the Billing Manager of Revenue Management
- Work remotely from the New Jersey office, with occasional onsite training and business travel as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Legal Biller required
- Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional demeanor and presentation
- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision and proactively in a team setting
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Initiative, good judgment, and excellent follow-up skills
- Ability to identify billing issues and provide possible solutions
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships within all levels of the firm
- Aderant or Elite/3E preferred
- Experience with Prebill Viewer, E-billing Hub, and Bill Blast
- Proficiency in Excel required
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT
- Proactive approach to learning and adapting to emerging AI and related technologies
- Flexibility to attend onsite trainings, work overtime, and conduct business travel as needed
- Must be able to perform the stated physical requirements, including extended sitting, data entry, filing, and lifting files
