About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise startups, growth-stage companies, and established global enterprises on technology transactions and product launches
- Advise clients on commercial and licensing agreements, intellectual property matters, and product counseling
- Structure deals and address regulatory considerations
- Manage intellectual property, licensing, data privacy and security, and sophisticated commercial transactions
- Negotiate transactions and help clients achieve strategic priorities
- Address regulatory scrutiny and protect client interests
- Work with clients buying, selling, licensing, or developing technologies
- Collaborate with clients across technology sectors and stages of business evolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing
- 4+ years of relevant experience at a law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience advising clients on commercial and licensing agreements, intellectual property matters, and product counseling
- Experience particularly involving cloud computing products and services, software, patents, IT procurement, supply chain, semiconductor, and AI/machine learning
- Deep knowledge of intellectual property and commercial contract law related to software, hardware, and digital assets
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as CCPA and GDPR
- Familiarity with open source license frameworks
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple client demands in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset and team-oriented approach
- Technical background or experience working with clients in cloud computing, semiconductor, hardware, AI, and cybersecurity sectors preferred
- Experience with international licensing and cross-border transactions preferred
- Exposure to IP workflows in M&A or financing transactions and post-closing integration preferred
