About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide advanced technical application support and assist the product support team with moderately complex product selection and application questions via phone and email
  • Develop and communicate solutions for unique applications, including design and special pricing
  • Gather information and resolve complex field problems, including potential onsite support travel
  • Determine product needs and requirements using industry codes and standards
  • Communicate key selling points of current products to sales teams and customers
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Maintain familiarity with competitor products and identify opportunities
  • Develop, organize, and present training for internal and external customers onsite and offsite
  • Participate in offsite events, including planning, setup, and customer interactions
  • Build rapport and relationships across the representative network and sales channel
  • Document service calls and product questions and field issues
  • May participate in industry associations, mentor or train team members, provide indirect supervision or have direct reports, and manage moderately complex team projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Application Engineer I: 0–2 years of relevant work experience in engineering required
  • Application Engineer II: 3–5 years of relevant work experience in engineering required
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree in engineering or equivalent years of job experience required
  • 4 Year / Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer and phone
  • Ability to perform sedentary office work and repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
  • Close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
  • Occasional mobility to attend in-person meetings and complete office tasks
