About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support development and maintenance of Greenhouse’s web-based applications for the Governance team
Build, modify, and maintain features using Ruby on Rails and React
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code aligned with architectural standards
Maintain RESTful APIs and update PostgreSQL data models
Write unit and integration tests using tools such as RSpec and Jest
Collaborate through code reviews, standups, and technical discussions
Participate in a shared support rotation, diagnosing and resolving issues
Build features, fix bugs, and ensure products remain stable and performant

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years experience contributing production code (required)
Experience contributing to projects and helping drive them to completion (required)
Experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python (Ruby preferred)
Direct experience with AI and agentic software development (Claude Code, Codex, etc.)
Proficient understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals, including React
Experience working in the full stack
Proficient understanding of architectural patterns
REST/web development experience
Experience partnering closely with Product and Design partners
Experience with Rails (preferred)
Experience with authorization and permissions (a plus)
