About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration with federal service and commercial-item acquisitions
  • Process simplified acquisitions, contracts, purchase orders, IAAs, IDIQ contracts, BPAs, and task, delivery, and call orders
  • Meet with program officials, CORs, and COs to support cradle-to-grave procurement actions from acquisition planning through contractual execution
  • Provide senior-level federal acquisition subject-matter expertise throughout acquisition planning, solicitation, evaluation, award, post-award administration, and close-out
  • Understand and apply federal acquisition laws, regulations, and processes
  • Proofread and edit data and documents daily to ensure clear and concise contractual work products
  • Analyze pre-award and post-award data, identify missing information, contact appropriate individuals, and notify the Government of findings
  • Assist with preparing and entering contractual actions into FTA’s contract writing system, currently ESC PRISM
  • Perform data verification and quality assurance and contribute input to federal reporting
  • Maintain written work updates in an online spreadsheet
  • Assist with call-order, task-order, and contract administration, including performance and invoice tracking
  • Prepare modifications related to contractual changes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, or higher degree and/or at least 8 years of relevant experience in the contracting field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Capability and technical capacity to recommend senior-level procurement strategies and methods
  • Active team participation and ability to assess contractual requirements and provide meaningful recommendations
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Google Workspace products including Calendar, Sheets, Chat, Gmail, Docs, Slides, Drive, and Meet
  • Strong internet research skills
  • Thorough knowledge of government contracts, including FFP, FP with Economic Adjustments, Labor Hour, and/or Time & Materials contracts
  • Knowledge of Cost Type contracts is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with IDIQ contracts, BPAs, task orders, delivery orders, call orders, and purchase orders
  • Senior-level expert knowledge and hands-on experience in federal acquisition operations, equivalent to at least FAC Level III training and experience and/or FAC Professional
  • Ability to operate a PC and phone in an office environment
  • Primarily sedentary work; some bending, light lifting, and carrying of equipment may be required
