About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships by understanding clients’ goals, financial priorities, risk tolerance, and evolving circumstances
  • Serve as lead advisor to new and existing clients and act as the primary point of contact for ongoing planning and investment needs
  • Conduct client discovery meetings and gather information on income, expenses, insurance, tax considerations, estate plans, and financial objectives
  • Develop, implement, and update comprehensive financial plans, including retirement planning, investment management, estate and wealth transfer considerations, and related strategies
  • Consult with clients on asset allocation and investment strategies and maintain Investment Policy Statements and related planning documentation
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers and internal specialists across investments, retirement planning, insurance, tax, and estate planning
  • Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships, cultivate referrals, network within the community, and develop new client opportunities
  • Communicate complex financial concepts through client meetings, phone calls, email, presentations, and other channels
  • Stay informed on market trends, economic developments, tax considerations, and regulatory changes
  • Complete required compliance activities and follow firm policies and procedures
  • Participate in Requests for Proposal and other business development activities involving retirement plans, endowments, or institutional relationships
  • Maintain organization, follow-up, and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment
  • Limited travel may be required
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of relevant experience as an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR), Financial Advisor, or in a comparable wealth management role
  • CFP® designation strongly preferred
  • Series 65 license required or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
  • Extensive experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families and delivering fiduciary-level advice
  • Strong understanding of comprehensive financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, and wealth strategy
  • Experience with estate planning, trusts, and/or tax planning is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal specialists while independently managing client relationships and responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and follow-up skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills and a genuine desire to help clients achieve their financial goals
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced environment
