About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the web development and UI design team, including Lead, Senior, and entry-level Web/UI Developers
  • Own tactical sprint-level delivery, design reviews, visual/UX standards, and brand integrity across Group 1001 web properties
  • Contribute production-quality design and Webflow builds on critical-path web properties
  • Conduct design reviews and prototype solutions in Figma and Webflow
  • Serve as Product Owner for portfolio applications and web properties
  • Own security posture, accessibility compliance (WCAG AA minimum), and applicable regulatory compliance
  • Own application architectural health, business continuity, disaster recovery, backups, retention, version currency, libraries, and security patches
  • Ensure team access to development, design, source control, CI/CD, cloud, monitoring, ticketing, and production-support tooling
  • Partner with IT, Security, and Identity teams on access provisioning, review, and revocation
  • Own quarterly and sprint-level design and build plans and align capacity with marketing initiatives
  • Lead or participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
  • Review user stories for design fitness, acceptance criteria, content readiness, and dependencies
  • Assign designers to projects based on skill, brand fluency, and capacity
  • Manage schedules, 1:1s, goals, performance reviews, compensation recommendations, and corrective action
  • Create development plans and mentor senior and lead designers
  • Own enterprise design-system governance, contribution model, and reuse strategy
  • Oversee SEO and Generative Engine Optimization strategy and monitoring
  • Own web analytics and BI feed strategy
  • Improve design throughput, handoff quality, and Webflow build velocity
  • Lead assessment, re-platforming, and brand integration of acquired web properties
  • Set and enforce design, accessibility, brand, and Webflow build standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of professional web design and front-end build experience with progressive responsibility
  • Professional experience in the financial services and/or insurance sector
  • Ability to meet or exceed the Lead Web/UI Developer technical bar
  • Expert-level Figma (HARD REQUIREMENT)
  • Expert-level Webflow for building and governing client-maintainable sites (HARD REQUIREMENT)
  • Deep experience building, evolving, governing, and scaling design systems across multiple product lines
  • Strong typography, layout, interaction, and visual-design fundamentals
  • Experience producing developer-ready Figma files for engineering handoff
  • Experience defining and executing SEO and GEO strategy and continuous monitoring
  • Experience instrumenting web properties to feed enterprise BI platforms
  • Content creation capability, including copy, visual assets, and campaign artifacts
  • Requirements-gathering fluency with Marketing, Sales, and Communications stakeholders
  • Agile environment experience with Jira and User Stories
  • Confident, fluent use of AI tools for design and content work
  • Technical/design management experience running a team of 3+ designers
  • Grounding in software engineering or design concepts and theory through formal education, professional training, or equivalent industry experience
  • Preferred: experience integrating acquired-company web properties during M&A activity
  • Preferred: insurance, life/annuity, or financial services marketing domain experience, particularly intermediary-distribution channels
  • Preferred: experience with Contentful, headless CMS architectures, or similar
  • HTML/CSS/JS proficiency sufficient to extend Webflow capabilities via custom code
  • Strong conflict-management, collaboration, coaching, stakeholder-empathy, and design-quality judgment skills
