About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and evolve data ingestion via Kafka (Amazon MSK), consuming analytical data from GCP into AWS
Model, manipulate, and optimize data in PostgreSQL (Amazon RDS) using advanced SQL and stored procedures
Apply business rules to data, including implementing rule engines
Work on data routing and distribution through events and Apache Iceberg architecture
Participate in technical refinement sessions, translating business needs into solutions even when the context is not yet fully defined
Ensure the quality of deliverables through unit testing, attention to metrics and vulnerabilities, and peer code reviews
Use AI in day-to-day development, applying critical judgment to its output

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid experience as a senior or higher-level back-end developer or data engineer
Hands-on experience with Kafka or another event-driven architecture
Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and advanced SQL; experience with stored procedures
Experience with AWS
Experience with automated testing and code quality practices
Proficiency in a primary programming language
Ability to move comfortably between technical and business contexts, with a systems-level perspective
Adaptability, proactivity, and comfort working in evolving environments
Preferred: experience with Apache Iceberg, lakehouse architectures, or other modern data architectures
Preferred: experience in supply chain, demand planning, or S&OP
Preferred: experience with rule engines
Preferred: experience using AI development tools such as Cursor or similar platforms
