About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage deadlines, hearings, expert examinations, and updates for a portfolio of civil and labor litigation matters, keeping systems and tracking tools up to date;
Monitor the work of external law firms, following up on case developments, reviewing filed pleadings, and forwarding relevant information and documents;
Gather from internal departments the facts, documents, and supporting materials required to prepare defenses;
Analyze and summarize complaints, defenses, decisions, and judgments, highlighting key issues for the Litigation Manager;
Attend hearings, expert examinations, and other legal proceedings when necessary;
Draft notices, responses, agreements, and other legal documents for review;
Maintain the databases supporting management reports, performance indicators, and the department’s contingency classification;
Record recurring issues identified across the litigation portfolio, contributing to the identification of preventive legal opportunities.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Law and active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB);
1 to 3 years of experience in civil and/or labor litigation, at a law firm or in a corporate legal department;
Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure and Labor Procedure under the Brazilian Code of Civil Procedure (CPC) and Consolidated Labor Laws (CLT), plus a basic understanding of Consumer Law;
Familiarity with court systems, including PJe, e-SAJ, eproc, and Projudi;
Experience with legal case management systems, such as Projuris, Legal One, Espaider, or similar platforms;
Strong legal writing and summarization skills;
Availability to attend hearings, expert examinations, and other legal proceedings;
Experience in a corporate legal department, preferably in the retail, food service, or franchising sectors;
Experience managing and monitoring outsourced law firms;
Basic knowledge of risk classification and contingency provisioning (probable, possible, and remote).
