About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver objective and insightful assurance to inspire meaningful action and reduce risk to GSK
  • Understand the current state of risk management, recognize good practices, identify issues, understand root causes, and provide improvement insights
  • Serve as an ambassador of risk management and the Internal Controls Framework
  • Perform and lead audits across Research and Development activities, including Research Practices, Patient Safety, and Scientific Patient Engagement
  • Conduct assurance work that may include commercial businesses
  • Work within a multinational team on a global scope
  • Engage auditees and business stakeholders to build trust, mutual understanding, and respect
  • Deliver timely, meaningful audit outputs aligned with the Core Audit Process and other assurance products
  • Identify control and risk-management gaps, good practices, and insights for broader sharing across GSK
  • Connect stakeholders with risk and internal-control-framework insights and resources
  • Anticipate and manage obstacles, escalate timely, rebalance priorities, and solve problems creatively
  • Challenge the status quo and develop self and others through feedback, coaching, teaching, and mentoring

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of R&D-related business activities and related risk, especially Research Practices, Patient Safety and/or Scientific Patient Engagement
  • Experience ideally gained from functional roles in the business
  • Proven track record managing complex projects and/or initiatives, including planning, organizing, managing people, and delivering within agreed timelines
  • Collaboration, partnership, and influencing skills
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as medical or allied health, science, life sciences, or pharmacy
  • 5+ years of experience in R&D or auditing
  • Preferred: experience working in or with IT/Tech and data analytics
  • Preferred: second foreign language
  • Preferred: prior monitoring, quality management, or audit experience
  • Travel required for about 25% of the time, assessed on an audit-by-audit basis
