About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to GPS, R&D and Medical teams, providing competitive intelligence support for assigned brands and programs
  • Partner with Vaccines functions and markets to provide broader insight and analysis
  • Collect and synthesize internal and external data to derive proactive, timely and actionable competitive insight
  • Develop holistic and predictive competitor landscape assessments
  • Make recommendations on current and future competitive drivers and their impact on competitiveness
  • Propose further analysis relevant to asset lifecycle, market position and business strategies
  • Integrate competitive intelligence analysis into commercialization stage gates, including brand planning, forecasting, evidence generation and strategic decision-making
  • Shape and direct coverage of key events and communicate analyses and insights rapidly
  • Help develop systems and processes for fast response to unplanned or ad hoc analysis
  • Lead competitive intelligence planning and coverage for relevant congresses
  • Drive team preparedness, develop key intelligence questions, align on-site activities and disseminate post-congress insights
  • Help evolve best-in-class competitive intelligence capabilities with the Head of Competitive Intelligence
  • Manage workflow and capabilities of broader resources supporting the CI team
  • Lead and coach resources to optimize performance and value
  • Engage third-party agencies and ensure CI research complies with GSK code of conduct, compliance and ethical business practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, strategy consultancy or financial institution
  • Functional experience in competitive intelligence, gained directly within a pharmaceutical company or within a relevant healthcare CI, investment or consulting environment
  • Strong understanding of medicine/vaccine development and commercialization from preclinical through marketing
  • Business knowledge of pharmaceutical/vaccine companies and their business practices
  • Ability to condense complex information into sharp, succinct and impactful deliverables
  • Experience in a matrix environment
  • Ability to build relationships and drive impact across functions, seniority levels and geographical locations
  • Preferred: Ph.D. in Science
  • Preferred: Deep understanding of and experience in multiple vaccine indications
  • Preferred: Previous commercial-function experience in a pharmaceutical company
  • Preferred: Ability to challenge, influence and support senior stakeholders
