About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a one-year industrial placement beginning in July 2027
- Work on live projects or assignments with genuine impact in GSK’s biopharmaceutical operations
- Support pharmaceutical manufacturing through process monitoring, performance analysis, process mapping, equipment evaluation, continuous improvement, deviation investigation, risk assessment, and root cause analysis
- Support business analytics and KPI improvement at the Worthing site
- Engage site teams in Digital, Data & Analytics culture and support GSK Production System rollout
- Work with production areas to execute improvement plans
- Develop digital solutions using AI, Power BI, Power Apps, and machine learning
- Work with APIs, data pipelines, integration patterns, data governance, reproducibility, documentation, and operational support in regulated R&D environments
- Contribute to predictive modelling, compound profiling, target identification, or translational biomarker discovery projects
- Develop automated data processes, datasets, dashboards, and visualisations
- Apply Python, R, SAS, Power BI, and Microsoft Power Platform
- Analyse product and process data to identify trends and support root-cause analysis
- Translate business and scientific requirements into practical data solutions
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, technical, digital, engineering, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support data integrity, GMP, validation, Agile working, continuous improvement, and sustainable zero-waste and zero-defect initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years of an undergraduate degree completed
- Must not have graduated at the start of the placement
- Must be enrolled at a UK or Republic of Ireland university for the duration of the placement
- Applicants who have already graduated with a bachelor’s degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters are not eligible
- Written and spoken fluency in English
- Must successfully complete the Connectr activity and obtain an application code
- Must successfully complete the eligibility form, GSK Digital Assessment, Virtual Assessment Centre or Virtual Interview, and any required technical assessment
- Role-specific degree requirements: Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Digital/Computer Science, Automation; Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Data Analytics; Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, or Life Sciences/Chemistry with a strong computational component; Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical/Biological Sciences, or another highly numerate subject
- Full-time onsite attendance required
