About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to development of the US Medical Affairs Plan and lead execution of assigned medical strategies and tactics, including launch-readiness activities
  • Ensure execution of medical tactics with the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team, including omnichannel activities, congresses, and medical education
  • Develop and execute advice-seeking activities such as advisory boards and scientific round tables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to share external insights internally and inform medical strategy and clinical development
  • Integrate US environment needs and medical voice of the customer into medical plans and global medical work
  • Identify and prioritize evidence gaps and provide US Medical input into clinical studies, real-world evidence initiatives, and other evidence-generation activities
  • Partner with Medical Communications, Training, and Medical Information on medical material development and communication plans
  • Assist with development of internal medical resources, including FAQs, Treatment Landscape, and MSL materials
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert supporting scientific training plans for SCLC and NSCLC lung cancer
  • Prioritize medical activity investment using GSK’s Medical Impact Framework
  • Lead or contribute to scientific engagement with external experts and communities
  • Apply medical governance in alignment with GSK policies and procedures
  • Support the US Medical Affairs Lead as needed
  • Collaborate with Global Medical, Field Medical, Clinical Development, Commercial, and other internal teams to deliver assigned medical activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PharmD or PhD (or other advanced science degree with significant experience)
  • US or Global Medical Affairs experience in oncology including launch experience
  • 5+ years pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Prior experience working in a US Medical Affairs role would be a plus
  • Ability to analyze external environment and translate to strategy/tactics
  • Ability to evaluate and understand the needs of the patient and healthcare ecosystem and build a customer-focused plan
  • Ability to work effectively with others, delegate appropriately within a matrix team, influence without authority, and foster collaboration
  • Ability to influence to deliver results, proactively identify opportunities, and anticipate the need for change
  • Deep understanding of the disease area, asset, and competitive landscape
  • Understanding of medical affairs accountabilities for evidence generation, external engagement, and advice seeking
  • Strong organizational, planning, and business acumen skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel 20–30%
