About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prospect and target healthcare providers to increase utilization of Shield™ for colorectal cancer and other cancer screening
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and maximize promotional budgets in support of the national sales strategy
  • Identify strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with primary care providers and practices
  • Develop and implement business plans aligned with brand strategy to support product launch
  • Identify and partner with national, regional, and local laboratories offering phlebotomy draw agreements
  • Identify marketplace opportunities, share best practices, and communicate strategies to cross-functional and Commercial Team partners
  • Analyze competitive landscapes and assigned-account environments to determine trends and provide customer feedback to leadership
  • Recommend strategic plans for gaining and retaining clients
  • Manage promotional activities in the assigned territory to support sales and marketing strategies
  • Work effectively across multiple Guardant Health departments
  • Collaborate with the sales team to attain company goals and objectives
  • Represent Guardant Health values to internal and external constituents
  • Support and comply with Quality Management System policies and procedures
  • Travel daily within the assigned territory and occasionally outside the territory for regional or national meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years’ experience in a customer-facing field-based sales role
  • Preferably experience in healthcare, diagnostics, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical sales
  • Solid history of consistent closing abilities and proven past performance that has met and exceeded expectations
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage in consultative selling and overcome objections
  • Market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, prioritize daily tasks, and manage critical deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal direction
  • Strong administrative skills in complex environments
  • Proficiency in in-person, phone, and virtual selling environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and CRM systems, preferably Salesforce and Veeva
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, respect, trust, a positive attitude, and understanding of organizational growth and change
  • Preferred: experience selling diagnostic products, blood-based testing, and/or phlebotomy directly to primary care providers
  • Preferred: product launch planning and execution experience
  • Preferred: familiarity with the primary care practice landscape in the territory
  • Preferred: high-touch customer service skills
  • AI and digital fluency, including responsible use of AI-enabled tools
  • Ability to travel daily within the assigned territory and travel outside the territory for regional or national meetings
  • Background screening including criminal history is required
