About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a CARE Team in New Business Operations
  • Ensure the team delivers genuine care to field partners and consumers
  • Drive communication, advocacy, responsiveness, and empowerment throughout customer interactions
  • Motivate and empower team members to take ownership and accountability for the consumer experience
  • Control consumer and field escalations and use resources and logic to solve problems quickly
  • Provide focused, constructive, and honest updates and feedback
  • Deliver results aligned with business priorities and goals
  • Support the team’s work as necessary
  • Delegate responsibilities, offer stretch assignments, and co-create development and career plans
  • Monitor operational and consumer service metrics and controls
  • Identify patterns and trends and drive proactive, practical solutions
  • Build relationships with Operations & Service leadership and cross-functional business partners across Guardian
  • Report to a CARE Manager, who reports to the Head of Life & DI New Business Operations
  • Travel approximately 10% to a Guardian work location as determined by the manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Leadership experience, participation in a leadership program, or demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Experience in insurance operations preferred
  • Proficiency in managing multiple lines of business helpful
  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Strong collaboration with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional and proactive communication skills
  • Confidence presenting ideas and team accomplishments to leadership in an executive summary style
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends and drive proactive and practical solutions
  • Strong proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations preferred
  • Skilled at mitigating risk, including NAIC illustration and replacement regulations and NY Reg 187
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
