About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a client book of business in the 2–99 life space
- Drive persistency, growth, and profitability through relationship development with clients, brokers, and internal partners
- Work with Underwriting, Sales Support, Service, and Claims
- Work directly with Sales Representatives to identify opportunities for additional coverage lines
- Support plan renewals and add-issue opportunities
- Generate plan options and quotes for additional coverage lines
- Evaluate the existing book of business for add-issue opportunities
- Handle incoming renewal and negotiation requests
- Build relationships with brokers, producers, and plan holders for groups with fewer than 100 enrolled lives
- Communicate renewals, alternative plan options, and add-issue quotes
- Review experience and utilization reports with Sales Representatives and package appropriate reports
- Use Salesforce Reports and other strategies to identify add-issue opportunities and generate quotes
- Follow up with brokers/producers on renewals and add-issue quotes and engage Sales Representatives as needed
- Negotiate renewal rate relief with Underwriting and generate plan alternatives
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Guardian systems, capabilities, products, and workflow procedures
- Work remotely from home with less than 10% travel
Requirements

- Computer proficiency in Outlook, Skype, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce, GCRS, Siebel, CPS, Phoenix, Business Objects, etc.
- Ability to represent Guardian in a professional manner
- Must be based in Syracuse, NY or Albany, NY
- Solid knowledge of group insurance products, contracts, and services
- Solid knowledge of financing methodologies and strategies
- Solid knowledge of group insurance underwriting principles, methodologies, and practices
- 3 to 5 years of insurance industry experience, preferably in a sales environment
- Demonstrated success in servicing brokers/producers/customers
- Must achieve required industry licensing within 90 days of hire and maintain the license through Continuing Education requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
