About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Statutory and GAAP Insurance Accounting and Financial Reporting functions for the Group Profit Center
  • Prepare regulatory and audited financial statements, supporting documentation, and workpapers for internal and external auditors
  • Assist with completion of audits as required
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules
  • Reconcile key accounts and analyze financial data for monthly and quarterly financial statements
  • Prepare Board and Audit Committee materials, including analytical research and account-variance documentation
  • Serve as subject-matter expert for Oracle and related-module maintenance questions
  • Create ad hoc reports and analyses for management reporting
  • Identify, communicate, and implement process improvements to enhance accounting and reporting controls and financial-reporting efficiency
  • Act as the department's primary Oracle Super User and point of contact

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of related experience in GAAP, Statutory, and Oracle Ledger
  • Understanding of Statutory and/or GAAP accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or economics preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Regulatory or public accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience prioritizing and completing multiple tasks and projects within specific deliverable periods
  • Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy of data in general ledgers, account reconciliations, and workpapers
  • Experience with MS Excel, Oracle Ledger, and SmartView reporting
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
