Energy Efficiency Consultant

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide detailed fact finding, research, and analysis of energy efficiency-related topics
- Assess technologies and analyze technology trends
- Model the performance of advanced technologies
- Perform statistical analyses and data collection
- Create and manage spreadsheets
- Develop test methods to characterize appliance energy use
- Review international industry test methods and procedures
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other client documents
- Support development of energy efficiency test procedures and standards
- Evaluate, investigate, and analyze new and emerging technologies improving building or equipment efficiency
- Conduct market and technology assessments and advanced technology investigations
- Develop specialized industry knowledge, consulting, project management, and leadership skills
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a US Citizen due to nature of client engagements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline
- Ability to commence working full time within 2-4 weeks
- One (1) to Three (3) years of directly related working experience
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work
- Ability to regularly use close visual acuity and operate computer equipment to prepare, analyze and transmit data accordingly
- Ability to work in an office environment
- Currently reside or ability to relocate near Arlington, VA
- Must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer that would prevent performing the job responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree awarded no later than August 2025 in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
- 1+ years professional working experience post-graduation
- Internships, co-ops, or fellowships related to energy efficiency, connected & smart lighting, HVAC technology, and/or building automation & efficiency
- Strong interest or relevant experience in energy efficiency, laboratory testing, advanced technologies, and/or related fields
- Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software
- Strong conceptual, quantitative, and qualitative analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
