About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support a Department of Justice component with advanced financial analysis, data validation, and internal control support
Review financial transactions, debtor payments, and third-party disbursements for legality, propriety, and federal compliance
Validate payees and payment allocations in case management and financial systems
Execute monthly suspended disbursement reviews, identify root causes, and assist in remediation
Evaluate financial data to identify inconsistencies and propose corrective actions
Conduct trend analysis and continuous monitoring of high-risk areas
Support internal control activities, including documentation reviews and control-gap identification
Develop dashboards, reporting templates, and analytics for senior leadership
Track recommendations, corrective actions, and follow-up testing
Participate in stakeholder engagements and provide analytical insights to DOJ leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; approved adjudication required prior to onboarding
Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related business field
FOUR (4) or more years of federal financial management, accounting, or auditing experience
Professional certifications such as CPA, CGFM, PMP, or similar are nice to have
Thorough knowledge of GAAP, GAGAS, and federal accounting standards
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field is nice to have
Experience with federal financial systems, ideally UFMS, CDCS, or Treasury systems
Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI and SQL
Federal project management experience
Experience reviewing records to confirm compliance with rules and regulations
Prior knowledge or experience with government audits
Travel required up to 10%
