About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and control secure configurations of over 200 information systems for a federal client
  • Apply NIST 800-128 guidance and applicable federal and organizational policies
  • Use Security-Focused Configuration Management (SecCM) to implement and maintain organizational and system security requirements
  • Integrate information security configuration management requirements with existing configuration management processes and information systems
  • Identify and record configurations affecting system and organizational security posture
  • Consider security risks when approving initial configurations
  • Analyze security implications of system configuration changes
  • Document approved and implemented changes
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis to support assignments and deliverables
  • Compile research and findings into white papers, reports, presentations, and technical documentation
  • Participate in configuration management policy development
  • Plan and manage configuration management
  • Perform configuration identification and configuration management and IT security audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET federal security clearance
  • US Citizenship is contractually required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • FIVE (5) or more years of overall work experience
  • Experience managing large security projects (cost, schedule, and performance)
  • Ability to obtain a DOD 8570 Level 1 certification within 6 months of employment, if not already obtained
  • Current DOD 8570 Level 1 or equivalent certification is desirable
  • Broad knowledge of cybersecurity threats
  • Broad knowledge of information system technologies
  • Experience developing security policy
  • Experience with online research techniques
  • Up to 10% travel
