Key responsibilities & impact

Assist in fee for service rate setting initiatives with a focus on financial modeling
Participate in analysis of client-identified issues or problems
Perform data and qualitative research activities using analytic tools such as Excel and Power BI
Advise Medicaid state clients on reimbursement strategies
Assist clients in assessing business and technical requirements related to program initiative implementation
Research and stay abreast of states’ healthcare transformation efforts
Document and communicate findings and support development of recommendations and follow-up steps
Identify and collaborate with a broad range of healthcare stakeholders
Manage independent time on projects and engagements of various sizes and durations
Provide subject matter expertise as requested and appropriate
Help develop business with new clients as requested
Participate in non-client-related firm-building activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

No sponsorship is available for this position
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university
Minimum of THREE (3+) years of previous work experience in the health care industry
Strong quantitative skills with advanced Excel proficiency and experience developing financial models
Strong attention to detail and deliverable preparation
Knowledge of state health agencies and healthcare reform, e.g., Medicaid, public health, health insurance, and health reform organizations (legislative, executive, governor’s office)
Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
Ability to conduct research through use of the internet and other information sources
Ability to travel to meet client needs as required
Superior written and oral communication skills
Excellent quantitative analysis skills, with training in advanced data analytics, use of Power BI and other coding skills (e.g., SAS, SQL)
A strategic problem solver
Demonstrated ability to self-manage task execution and manage discreet task / project / initiative functions
Ability to work overtime as necessary
Assure high-quality client work product
