About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Guide clients in executing their mission effectively and efficiently
  • Participate in information-gathering sessions regarding organizational structure, process, technology, and culture
  • Develop work products synthesizing information into client recommendations
  • Draft, update, and quality-control SOPs, templates, and technical documents
  • Develop and maintain training materials, job aids, and reference products
  • Present work products and information to clients and facilitate discussions
  • Collaborate with a team to solve organizational challenges for a government client leading major unification initiatives
  • Develop project management artifacts, including decision trackers, meeting summaries, and status reports
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues
  • Work with stakeholders to keep projects on time and within budget

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust; candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen due to nature of client engagements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of management consulting experience, preferably within the public sector
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail; well-organized and able to self-prioritize multiple activities
  • Ability to thrive in client service and team-based environments, especially when tackling unstructured problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office
  • PMP or other project or program management certification is nice to have
  • Experience developing and maintaining formal documentation is nice to have
  • Experience working with Federal, state, or local transportation organizations is nice to have
  • Experience working with the Federal government is nice to have
