About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and development of web and mobile solutions using JavaScript, React, and Guidewire’s Jutro design system
- Collaborate with UX designers and cross-functional teams to deliver single-page applications and digital services
- Apply CSS, SASS, automated unit testing, and server-side technologies
- Mentor and guide development teams
- Support migration projects from AngularJS to React
- Use UX prototyping tools such as Invision and Sketch as needed
- Work on customer-facing consulting and implementation projects for insurance clients, InsurTechs, and delivery partners
- Travel for onsite client engagements as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of software development experience with web technologies
- 4–5+ years of experience with React
- Experience or willingness to learn Guidewire’s Jutro design system
- Experience building web/mobile services and single-page applications
- Experience with CSS and SASS
- Experience with automated unit testing using Jest/Enzyme
- Experience with server-side technologies including JSON/RPC and REST
- Strong English skills
- Fluent in Japanese
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Insurance industry experience is a plus
- Exposure to Figma, Invision, Sketch, or other UX prototyping tools is nice to have
