Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the company’s Loss Mitigation functions
  • Manage and develop direct reports through objectives, coaching, feedback, and reviews
  • Monitor direct-report productivity and reports for department efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Assign work and projects related to areas of expertise and supervision
  • Ensure business processes are timely, accurate, and compliant with investor, company, state, and federal guidelines
  • Monitor operational performance and metrics to maximize productivity, efficiency, service, and compliance
  • Set goals, train, coach, guide, and recognize team members; own talent management for the Loss Mitigation organization
  • Monitor licensing requirements and related processes
  • Prepare the annual budget and manage monthly and annual department expense budgets
  • Monitor escalated investor, compliance, and account issues and ensure timely, accurate responses
  • Provide weekly and monthly productivity reports and trend/status updates to senior management
  • Follow up on and remediate action items and deficiencies
  • Provide oversight and guidance for internal and external audits, participate during audits, and respond to findings
  • Monitor training development concerning investor rules, regulations, compliance criteria, internal policies, guidelines, and best practices
  • Monitor departmental projects for prioritization, development, tracking, and implementation
  • Work with the Senior Servicing Analyst to update and test systems and processes
  • Work with the Leadership Team to update policies and procedures
  • Lead through subordinate managers and direct reports; report to a member of the leadership team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma and some college; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Ten or more years total mortgage default, loss mitigation and short sale experience
  • At least five years in a supervisory role
  • Expert-level knowledge of conventional and government mortgage loan documents, processes, inter-relationships, standards, requirements, terminology, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of federal debt collection laws and Federal Bankruptcy Laws
  • Knowledge of proper handling of other legal situations
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, CFPB, and FDCPA preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SmartSheets, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Limited supervision required
  • High level of independent judgment and decision-making
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to develop a team atmosphere and mentor team members
  • Travel: 5% or less
  • Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions
  • Ability to adhere to and apply process protocols in a timely manner
  • Work primarily during Monday–Friday business weeks
